UNION CONSULTING

Entertainment industry unions require its members to be covered by the appropriate contract, also known as the signatory process or “becoming signatory”. There are three steps of paperwork for a completed file:

(1) Getting cleared to start principal photography

(2) During principal photography

(3) Post-production

Each contract has its own terms & conditions with salary minimums. There are a lot of forms with legalese to read and to complete properly. But if you don’t understand the paperwork or submit what’s necessary the way it needs to be, your clearance may be delayed. It can feel like an overwhelming and complex process, especially if you don’t have a lot of time to do it yourself.

But I can help!

As your Union Consultant, I can assist with SAG-AFTRA by:

  • Discussing your project details to determine what may be the best Agreement to move forward with

  • Corresponding with the Union on your behalf

  • Reviewing, assessing, completing, organizing and submitting materials & information on your behalf

Depending on your project’s budget, some Agreements may require a Security Deposit and Financial Assurances. I can assist with summarizing your Chain-of-Title, Financing Plan, and United States Copyright Office materials. I can also help with the Security Deposit Return process.

As safety-on-set is of the utmost importance, I can review your Script for what stunts and intimacy scene concerns may need to be addressed, with a Summary provided to the Union.

Additionally, I can assist with Residuals matters before going to arbitration.
